I expect to be in the DC area for May, though not sure about the rest, so that is my possible window. My website www.brianthefolksinger.com links to the webjournal which catalogues the videos. Though can't really consider myself local any more, I expect, though I expected I would be there a while longer it didn't happen. Still, happy to perform any time I can, though it will be a busy time.. might be better to involve people who can use the local exposure. Will you livecast? Epicure cafe hosts various events, and the Soundry has experience with webcast, or is this focused on CTV alone?.. though lost there bricks and mortar they are still producing using host sites.

Had time to think and make a real comment:
I don't favor the "battle of the bands" concept generally, because I don;t see art as a competition with a "winner" and a lot of "losers", art is not the same as a horse race or a boxing match. Categories and judging are arbitrary or simple individual taste, beyond judging a certain level of practical competence. It is forcing analogies of sports and games, war and violence, on art, which don't apply to art, though art can be applied to them, oddly enough.
How do you compare things that are unique? And what someone enjoys, like food, is personal taste.. what I don't like is no measure of it's merits, only my personal tastes, I could never "judge" an artist's work, except perhaps just simple competence. The mega-music biz may have devolved to a popularity contest, but popularity isn't the measure of art, and it does not need mass appeal to be both valid and great art.
I prefer a "showcase" model where all performers "win" by getting exposure and can be displayed for what makes them what they are, individual, both as artists and as people, as well as their similiarities and influences. It also means that the majority are asked to volunteer to lose so that one may win, that is gaming. It is een interesting to see and encourage new artists who do have true talent, but are still developing to a professional level. And every artist has a story that can be interesting.
